Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 1:10–17 shows that self-centeredness and personal preferences create destructive divisions in the church. The Corinthians were aligning themselves with human leaders instead of Christ, elevating personalities over the gospel. Since Christ is not divided, we must die to ourselves, pursue doctrinal unity, extend grace in non-essentials, and keep our focus on Jesus alone.
