A little boy built a sailboat, lost it to the harbor current, found it weeks later in a store window — and had to buy it back. As he walked out, he said to the boat: "You are twice mine. Mine because I made you, and mine because I bought you." That's exactly what redemption means.

In this message from our series "Fullness," Pastor Ron opens Ephesians 1:7–10 and unpacks four truths surrounding our redemption in Christ: the principle of redemption, its price, its provision, and God's ultimate plan.

The Principle — Bought Out of the Slave Market: Redemption means deliverance by payment of a price. We were born into sin, enslaved to it — and the only price that could buy us out was a perfect, sinless death. Jesus paid it.

The Price — His Blood: No less price would do. The blood speaks of life, and the life of Christ poured out is what purchased our freedom. Justified, pardoned, reconciled, redeemed — all of it through his blood.

The Provision — Total Forgiveness: The word for forgiveness means to send away, never to return. Not just covered like the Old Testament sacrifices, but removed — as far as the east is from the west. And God forgives according to the riches of His grace, not just out of them.

The Plan — All Things Gathered in Christ: The mystery of His will is this: that in the fullness of time, God will bring all things together in Christ. Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess. Adam lost paradise; Jesus came to get it back.
