How the Church Deals with Sin
1COR13
In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul confronts a shocking case of incest in the Corinthian church and rebukes them for proudly tolerating sin in the name of grace. This shows that God’s love is never separated from His holiness, and true Christian love sometimes requires biblical discipline to restore those in open sin. Like leaven in bread, tolerated sin spreads and corrupts, so loving confrontation aims to bring people back to God.
