If I asked for a show of hands of everyone who knows with certainty what their spiritual gift is, most likely less than half of you would raise your hand. That's a problem — and tonight we're going to start fixing it.

In this message from our series "Fullness," Pastor Ron opens Ephesians 4:7–10 and walks through what spiritual gifts are, how they're given, and how to find yours.

The Measure of Christ's Gift: While the first six verses spoke of what we share in common, verse 7 says "but" — now Paul moves to our individuality. To each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. We're not cookie-cutter Christians. God has given every believer a unique gift mix — like different-shaped vessels each filled with a unique proportion of the Spirit's graces.

What Spiritual Gifts Are — and Aren't: Spiritual gifts are not natural abilities. They are supernatural enablements given at salvation to serve God and build up the body of Christ. An unsaved person has talents; only a believer has spiritual gifts. And every believer has one — no exceptions.

How to Find Yours: You'll never find your giftedness sitting on the sidelines. Like a Little League coach who puts kids in different positions until they find where they thrive, God reveals your gift as you step out and serve. Find a need and meet it — God will supply the ability and show you where He's called you.

The Means — Christ's Victory Secured the Gifts: Paul quotes Psalm 68, likening Christ's ascension to a conquering king returning to his city with spoils, then distributing gifts to his people. When Jesus ascended, he sent the Holy Spirit — and through Him, gifted every member of His body to carry on His work on earth.
